Juniper, Japanese Garden One of the finest groundcover junipers, this old favorite grows similar to the species, but is more dwarfed. Plants appear as a neat, mounded mat of small branchlets 2' tall and up to 10' wide. The plant mounds on itself with age and develops a slight purple cast in winter

Juniper, Old Gold A beautiful shrub with arching branches of golden-green foliage. Great as a specimen or accent plant with its rich color. Tolerant of hot, dry conditions. Extremely Hardy.

Juniper, Tam Unusually attractive feathery blue-green foliage. It is a very popular choice for ground cover. Excellent for foundation, rocky or border plants. Sabina Junipers varieties can be recognized by the faintly unpleasant smell of the crushed foliage.

Pine, Mugho Swiss Mountain Pine is one of the best evergreen for this area. Great as an evergreen entryway accent. A low, mounding evergreen that will be the highlight of both the summer and winter garden.

Santolina,Grey This evergreen shrub has fragrant, narrow, and crinkled silvery-grey leaves on mound-shaped plants about two feet high. Soft gray leaves give it its name, cotton lavender, also known as gray santolina. In cold climates, give some extra protection with a mulch.

Yew, Dense A glossy, dark green shrub commonly used for foundation planting, hedging, or massing. The Dense Yew will tolerate sun or shade, and pollution, but not excessive moisture. Standing water over the root system has been know to kill existing plants. New planting in damp areas should be avoided, or plants should be elevated as much as possible.

Yew, Hicks Taxus has dark green foliage with the exception of new growth which is emerald green. They can be planted in spring or fall with good results and are most effectively moved balled-and-burlaped. Most varieties are naturally compact and symmetrical and require very little corrective pruning.

Yucca, Texas Red A drought tolerant plant that has long slender leaves and a red flower spike. It makes a large clump. Hummingbirds like the flowers of this plant. Give it good drainage in the sun or part sun.
