Russian Sage (Perovskia Atriplicifolia)

Blue Mist Spirea (Caryopteris Clandonensis)

Snow-in-Summer (Cerastium Tomentosum)

Snow-in-Summer is useful in the rock garden or as a ground cover. Can be invasive in contained areas but spreads rapidly as a soil holder on slopes.  The white flowers are profuse in spring through mid-summer.

Tickseed (Coreopsis Grandiflora 'Sunray')

Double yellow blossoms keep coming all summer. Deadheading encourages heavier blooming. Needs regular watering until established. Does best in well drained soil.

Wormwood (Artemesia 'Silver Mound')

Finely cut silvery foliage. Forms a compact, rounded mound which is soft and fluffy to the touch. A valuable rock garden plant. Suitable for edging the perennial border or used as a ground cover. Gives a beautiful "foamy" effect.

Exposure: Full Sun to Partial Shade
Drought Tolerance: High

Pincushion (Scabiosa columbaria 'Butterfly Blue')

The 2000 Perennial Plant of the year is well adjusted to the Ruidoso Xeriscape garden. Bountiful lavender blooms from early spring through late fall. Attractive, compact foliage is a plus.
